Criminal law gets a lot of attention in mystery novels, but sometimes ordinary facets of civil law - courtship, marriage and divorce, children's rights, gifts and inheritances, who has control over property and how to find it if it's hidden, how trusts work, the ground rules in estate fights - may provide the crucial clue, motive or plot twist. And how may a quiet life be affected in these areas in the face of murder, suspicious disappearance, theft, and other egregious behavior?

Nancy will provide you with a primer of terms and concepts, give interesting examples, dispel common misconceptions, and she invites you to bring in your questions and general inquiries for a lively discussion!
